Marching Band
Band Director
Joshua Stettes
The Marching Band is an ensemble made up of all members, grades 9-12, of the Wentzville Holt High School Band that incorporates the musical as well as the visual aspect of performance. The winds, drum line, pit, and color guard create the atmosphere for the theme or concept of the marching show. The band travels to festivals to compete with surrounding bands and obtain critiques from quality judging.
Marching Band begins with two weeks of band camp in late July. When school starts, morning practices begin at 6:30 every morning and run to the end of first hour. Night rehearsals will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30, which allow us to practice on the football field. We have sectionals for each group of students during the marching season and are mandatory for a grade:
- Brass Music Sectional is Tuesday after school until 3:30pm
- Woodwind Music Sectional is Wednesday after school until 3:30pm
- Percussion Sectional is Tuesday Night from 6-8:30pm
- Color Guard Sectional is Tuesday Night from 6-8:30pm.
All early rehearsals and Thursday evening practices run through the end of October.
The Marching Band performs at all home football games and is a "for credit" class
